Dr. Steve Parker M.D.

Steve Parker is a Family Physician who serves all ages of patients. He is privileged to start care at the newborn age and care for patients over 90 years old.

Through this variety of patients, he keeps his day interesting and his focus on Family Medicine strong. In this way Dr. Parker is able to view and know the patient as an individual but also has an insight into multigenerational family dynamics. He is also able to provide procedural and inpatient care, rounding out his wide range of care. Privileges at the local hospital provides opportunity to round on his patients during hospitalization. Dr. Parker keeps his medical license current in Alaska and Michigan.

His interest in medical care started early, with the influence of family as well as jobs as a teen and young adult in the field. Michigan State University accepted him into the College of Human Medicine and he finished his training at Womack Army Medical Center Family Practice Residency. From there, he provided care to Soldiers and their families in Hohenfels and Wurzburg, Germany. Upon leaving the military, the Parker Family moved to Gaylord, MI where he practiced full spectrum Family Medicine with Obstetrics. After five years in Gaylord, Dr. Parker moved to Palmer, Alaska, where he has lived since.

The Parker Family includes seven children, who are Dr. Parker’s primary interest. The children are homeschooled and involved in many local events and sports. Steve Parker enjoys playing guitar, cross country skiing, jogging, hiking, outdoor sports and home projects. He is active in his Church, First Baptist Church of Wasilla.
